Early Life and Influences

From an early age, Bob’s life was shaped by creativity, as music and art were always within reach growing up.

His story began in Houston, TX, where he was raised by his father, a strong, charismatic leader, and his mother, an accomplished artist.

Throughout his early life and into adulthood, Bob spent hours listening to his favorite artists and learning to sing. He was supported by loving parents who nurtured his dreams.

Education and Training

After high school and a tour of duty in the US Air Force, Bob majored in drama at Lon Morris College and continued at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts—a top performing arts school.

There, Bob received training from a talented voice coach, Dolores Simonel, known for singing in several New York clubs and performances abroad. Through her guidance, Bob further developed his vocal abilities and honed his technique.

Singing in the Golden State

After college, Bob moved to Los Angeles, where he appeared in numerous stage productions and films. It was there that he began to explore singing the classics, like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, and more.

He picked up a style of singing called crooning, which started in the 1920s with the advent of microphones. Singers went from projecting their voices on a big stage to using microphones, which allowed them to scale back and perform more intimately.

Singing His Way Through Life

Now living in Jacksonville, TX, his performances of jazz standards have taken him everywhere from Las Vegas and Beverly Hills to Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and Shreveport.
